Ms. Kaitlyn Saugstad came to St. Philip’s in the spring of 2018 as a long term sub and now is officially joining the St. Philip’s family as our 5th grade teacher.
Ms. Saugstad was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon. Currently, she is attending Wisconsin Lutheran College to finish her Master’s in Elementary Education.
Since graduation, Ms. Saugstad has worked at St. Marcus as an educational assistant and substitute teacher in multiple K5-5th grade classrooms, but is excited to be able to continue to serve as our fifth grade teacher.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Saugstad loves to try new restaurants, hike, read, play board games, and travel, with Arkansas and Colorado being her favorite places to go. She has a passion for sports, especially volleyball and baseball, and will often be cheering for Wisconsin or Arkansas teams.
When asked why she decided to be an educator she stated, “All throughout my education career, I was blessed to have teachers that were full of joy and passion, that helped ignite a similar energy inside me that helped guide me to the field of education. I am so thankful, that God has blessed me an opportunity to help teach, coach, and share the Gospel with his lambs!”
